Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.

"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a message.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Television Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
