Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments of the year due to a medical condition she has been battling over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but chose to travel back to recover ahead of launching her preparations for 2026.

Those preparations will include coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the Ningbo Open this week, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu because of a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points then was defeated by Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
