Trump Calls Families of Injured Guard Soldiers to White House

President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the presidential home.

He added that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Background on the Tragic Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a attack on Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in grave state.

Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump addressed the press. “And similarly with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Response

Community members gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to support public safety in Washington DC.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Legal Steps and Government Changes

Authorities have charged a 29-year-old suspect with one count of first-degree murder and charges of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident prompted the government to halt asylum applications and cease issuing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, according to the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on television.

Attorney general the attorney general told Fox News Sunday that she aimed to visit the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” the governor informed the audience at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
